Garbage

Garbage

We consider garbage to be anything that we are unable to recycle. All garbage is weighed at the scale house and driven to the landfill to be unloaded by the customer. Garbage is charged at $54.00 a ton. There is a $15.00 minimum on all garbage loads.

Small loads of household garbage will be directed to our customer convenience center to unload into containers.

Things that the HCLC considers garbage:

  • Construction & Roofing
  • Mattresses
  • Furniture
  • Boats
  • Hot tubs
Mixed Loads

The HCLC is committed to extending the life of our landfill and minimizing our environmental impact. For these reasons, loads dumped in the landfill containing large amounts of recyclable material are subject to be charged at $75.00 per ton. Recyclable materials such as scrap metal, appliances, tires, cardboard, lumber, and pallets should all be taken to their designated location for proper recycling.

Yard Waste and Brush

We do not allow any yard waste or brush in the landfill. We have a separate designated area for yard waste and brush, which is charged at $45 a ton. (must be 100% free from garbage and bags)

Clean Lumber & Pallets

We have started a new initiative to divert clean lumber and pallets from the landfill. Clean lumber CAN contain nails and screws. It CAN NOT include any other foreign material considered garbage or recycling.
